Cathedral Quarter
An emerging part of Derby City Centre, with bars, shops and coffee houses a plenty, it is quickly making itself known as a great place to relax in the city.
It is truly based in the historic part of the city, with compact streets and old looking buildings, you can't help but feel a sense of how the city used to be.
Sadler gate is probably the prettiest and old Victorian styled street. Just off the market place you immediately bump into the black and white tudor frontage of the The Old Bell, walk further down the street and you will see many small coffee shops, independant clothing stores and a few bars thrown in for good measure.
Other items of interest in the Cathedral Quarter is Derby Market Place, home to the big screen and the assembly rooms as well as the Guildhall Theatre.
Also, visit Derby Museum which houses the largest collection of Joseph Wright Paintings.
