Berkeley Inns Ltd can confirm that works have finally started on the Bluebell pub in Kirk Langley, Derbyshire following two years of planning.
The Bluebell will now be closed until the much anticipated re-opening around the 1st May 2020.
This popular village pub is part of the award-winning Berkeley Inns group which is now undergoing a major facelift with new extensions to provide a dining area within a modern orangery building and a new state of the art kitchen facility.
Around £600,000 is being invested.
Alongside the extensions, there will be a new underground cellar installation featuring the latest supercooled beer dispense equipment.
All electrical and heating systems are being replaced with the latest technology, significantly reducing the building’s carbon footprint.
The front of the building, the original 19c Pub, will be renovated to reveal original features and create the traditional village pub feel, complimenting a more modern design to the restaurant areas behind.
To the rear of the property, a new external terrace and seating area are under construction featuring an attractive outlook onto newly planted gardens packed with flowering plants, shrubbery and trees, creating a relaxing space for visitors to enjoy during the warmer months.
After re-opening, the pub will offer a mouth-watering selection of modern and classic pub foods, juicy burgers and inventive stone baked Pizzas which all feature alongside health-conscious choices and an exciting vegetarian/vegan focussed menu.
National brands, a spectacular variety of craft beers and well-chosen wines, will sit beside a speciality gin and cocktail bar. An inventive selection of grown-up non-alcoholic drinks will complete the special drinks range.
