The Ofsted-registered setting occupies a 0.42-acre site formerly home to the Mandarin restaurant and has been transformed by MHL Commercial into a modern space for pre-school learning.
Inside, the nursery offers a nurturing, sensory-rich environment for babies aged 0–2, a vibrant area for toddlers focused on communication, language and physical development, and an inspiring room for 3–4-year-olds designed to prepare them for their next learning stage. The team’s ethos is that learning and laughter go hand in hand, with engaging activities that help children grow, learn and thrive.
Midbrook Buildings designed and constructed the new facility, working closely with Lots for Tots Derbyshire to realise the vision for the site. Director Simon Moore said the location had “great potential” and that the completed building is now a valuable community asset for Hilton.
Earlier in the summer, Lots for Tots hosted a VIP preview, inviting local stakeholders and families to explore the new provision. Director Beth Wheatley said she is proud of the building and the “incredible” staff team, adding that she looks forward to welcoming the first families through the doors in September and is grateful for the support received throughout the project.
Commercial property consultants OMEETO completed the letting following MHL Commercial’s acquisition of the site. OMEETO director Chris Wright described the project as an exciting one, praising the team’s passion and the child-centred space they have created.
Lots for Tots Childcare opens in September.
