Small Business Saturday national roadshow rolls into Derby on Friday 14 November

Backed by the Cathedral Quarter BID, St Peters Quarter BID, and Derby City Council, the tour will spotlight local entrepreneurs, celebrate their impact on our high streets and communities, and offer practical support in the run-up to Small Business Saturday on Saturday 6 December.

When & where

  • Date: Friday 14 November
  • Time: 10:00am – 2:00pm
  • Location: Osnabruck Square, next to Derby’s newly opened £35m Market Hall
  • Look out for: The tour “bus” – an electric van, reflecting the sustainable choices many small businesses are making on the road to net zero.

On the day

The team will be meeting traders and visiting local favourites including Critical Hit, Eagle Books, Spa Diamond, Happy Hour, Glamberry, Threadz, and Cheeky Pancakes.

What they said

“Each year, Small Business Saturday runs a national roadshow that travels the length and breadth of the country, and we are pleased that Derby has been chosen to feature on this year’s tour… we’re excited the tour is stopping off to visit our small and successful businesses again.”
— Gemma Pindard, Deputy BID Manager, St Peters Quarter & Cathedral Quarter BIDs

“Derby has an incredible variety of small businesses… I’m proud to show my support for Small Business Saturday and our small businesses across Derby.”
— Cllr Nadine Peatfield, Leader of Derby City Council & Cabinet Member for City Centre, Strategy, Regeneration and Policy

“Small businesses need as much support as possible and this roadshow will be hugely beneficial to our local community.”
— Martin Langdale MBE, Chair, Cathedral Quarter BID

A thriving city centre

Derby’s small business community continues to grow: new independents have opened across the city centre throughout 2025, with more set to arrive before year-end.
