The festive competition launches on Monday, November 10, and it’s completely free to enter. Golden tickets will be available from shops across Derby city centre. To take part, simply fill in your ticket and post it in one of the 20 special post boxes located in participating businesses across the two BID areas.
Four lucky winners will each receive £500 in shopping vouchers, to be spent in businesses within the Cathedral Quarter and St Peters Quarter — just in time to treat yourself or your loved ones after the festive season.
Now in its fifth consecutive year, the Golden Ticket Prize Draw continues to grow in popularity. Last year, over 4,000 people took part in the city-wide competition.
You can also find entry tickets inside the Derby City Council Festive Derby Guide, which will be delivered to households in early November and highlights all the events taking place in Derby this Christmas.
The deadline to enter is Saturday, December 20, with the draw taking place in early January. Four winners will be chosen at random — and entries are limited to one per person.
Post box locations are listed on the back of each ticket, or you can find full details online at derbycathedralquarter.co.uk and stpetersquarter.co.uk.
Brad Worley, Manager for both the Cathedral Quarter and St Peters Quarter BIDs, said:
“Last year, we had a record number of entries. Thousands of people took part in the Golden Ticket Prize Draw, and we gave away £2,000 to four lucky shoppers.
In January, four winners will receive £500 to spend in shops across Derby. It’s simple to enter – just pick up a golden ticket, fill it in and post it in one of our special post boxes – it really is as easy as that.”
The initiative aims to encourage people to shop local and support Derby’s city centre businesses throughout the festive season.
Martin Langsdale, Chairman of the Cathedral Quarter BID, added:
“Our Golden Ticket Prize Draw is always really popular with shoppers, and it sets the tone for all the wonderful things happening in Derby this Christmas.”
Helen Wathall MBE, Chair of the St Peters Quarter BID, said:
“It’s amazing how many people take part each year. The Golden Ticket Prize Draw attracts thousands of entries, and we’re delighted that shoppers love it.”
