Do you love a good Martini, Daiquiri or maybe even a cheeky Cosmo? Well look no further! I’m here to tell you the best places in Derby for a good cocktail. Over the past year, I have visited A LOT of bars in Derby and I thought I’d make a list of my absolute favourites.

The Cosy Club

One thing I love about Cosy Club is their wonderful decor and relaxed atmosphere. They have an extensive food menu alongside a very broad drinks menu. The cocktails pictured above were with brunch (oops) which was a tad early in the day for a good drink but they weren’t too overpowering. The Espresso Martini was quite bitter but is brilliant if you love coffee. The Salted Caramel Alexander is perfect for those who have an affection for Baileys; it’s very creamy and light and very easy to drink! If you want to see more about The Cosy Club then watch my video below!

Located on Victoria Street, The Cosy Club is right in the heart of the city centre, just a stone’s throw from the major bars and clubs.

The Slug and Lettuce

The Slug and Lettuce is a classic for a good cocktail. They change their menu a handful and times a year but they always manage to impress. There is over 30 cocktails on their menu so it could suit anyone’s tastes. With champagne cocktails, Red Bull rocktails, creamy classics, strong but sweet favourites, and always 2 for 1, you can’t go wrong!

I could drink screaming orgasms all day… ๐Ÿ˜

Located on Irongate, The Slug and Lettuce is perfect for a girls night out, a great date night or for a cheeky after work drink. Offering food, drinks and a sparkling decor, it’s perfect for any occasion!

Lola Lo

Lola's is my fave ๐Ÿ˜

ABOVE: Trips to Lola Lo’s are never dull and it is absolutely the place for cocktails!

It’s Hawaiian theme makes for tasty and tropical drinks to suit everyone. My personal favourites are Blue Bounty which is heavily coconut based and the classic Pornstar Martini, which is just delectable. My partner loves the Honey Beachcomber; a Jack Daniels based cocktail with cream and honeycomb, and as you can see, is served in a Jack Daniels tin. At certain times the cocktails are half price so they work out around ยฃ4 each and they’re all made right in front of you with fresh ingredients! Lola’s (as I like to call it) is located right in the heart of the bar scene in the old Post Office building on Victoria Street and with brilliant drink offers and scrumptious food, why wouldn’t you go? Turtle Bay

Turtle Bay’s Caribbean themed food, decor and drinks provide a relaxed vibe as soon as you set foot in the door. Most of their cocktails are rum based (as they are Caribbean after all!) but this doesn’t limit the flavours and colours of the drinks. If you’re looking for somewhere with great food, great staff and great drinks, then this is the place to go.

Opening last year on the Wardwick, Derby, opposite Lola Lo and Revolution, Turtle Bay saw nothing but success and support from the local community, Cocktails are 2 for 1 at all times apart from between 7pm and 10pm but don’t worry, they’re not that expensive anyway.

Revoluciรณn de Cuba

Did someone say party? Well that’s what Cuba’s (yep, another nickname) is all about! I love their Fiesta vibe and themed food and drink. By day, it’s a relaxing restaurant/bar but by night, it’s party central in Derby with live Latin bands and the disco ball sparkling away. Their cocktail menu is absolutely huge and sure enough, something to suit everyone. My favourites are the Coconut Daiquiri and Raspberry Mojito; classics but just delicious.ย If you want to read about my time at their blogger’s event, click here! Sitting opposite the retro bar, Fever and one door down from Revolution on The Strand, again, smack bang in the middle of the city’s strip. Offering happy hour on Sunday evenings and 5pm to 7pm during the week with fantastic food and great entertainment, you’d be a fool not to try it. Read more about Revoluciรณn de Cuba here
