Love taking your pooch to the pub?

I was recently asked about dog friendly pubs in Derby and immediately contacted some that sprung to mind.

I have compiled the list below but if you own/know a pub that is dog friendly and anything that is done especially to accommodate them, please mention in the comments.

Let’s take a look at the dog friendly pubs in Derby.

1. Silk Mill

After undergoing a mini-refurbishment the Silk Mill on Full St is the perfect place to sit with a pint after a long walk with the dog.

Take a closer look at the Silk Mill here.

2. Exeter Arms

Popular city pub with water bowls at the ready and a big jar of dog biscuits.

The staff at the Exeter Arms on Exeter Place are always very enthusiastic about giving maximum fuss to its canine customers.

Take a look at the Exeter Arms here.

3. The Tap Beer and Spirit House

The Tap on Derwent Street is more than happy to accommodate well-behaved dogs and can provide a water bowl should the need arise. Please note that they are not allowed on seats.

Take a closer look at the Tap.

4. Five Lamps

The Five Lamps on Duffield Road welcomes dogs into the pub and you can have 14 Real Ales, 3 Traditional Ciders and homemade food.

Find out more about the Five Lamps here.

5. Flower Pot

The Flower Pot on King Street is popular for those wanting to see a good cover band or two, it is also great for a drink with your favourite canine claiming to be ‘absolutely’ dog friendly.

6. The Orange Tree

The Orange Tree on George Street is a Derby hidden gem and a fantastic place for handcrafted cocktails, after work drinks, craft beers, and gins.

The pub is indeed dog friendly however advice is given to not bring your dog on a Friday or Saturday evening as it can get quite busy.

Read more about the Orange Tree here.

7. The Greyhound

The Greyhound, situated on Friargate, has seen a revival in recent years after it was taken over by the Derby Brewing Company. Inside it has been nicely decorated with a contemporary/traditional pub feel.

There is a fantastic beer garden which is a pleasant place to sit when the sun is shining. Each table is within reaching distance of a heater so the garden is just as nice to sit in any weather.

That’s all folks!
