More about Byron…
Specialising in ‘proper hamburgers’, Byron was founded by Tom Byng in 2007, with the first Byron opening on Kensington High Street in 2007.
During a four-year stint in America, Tom ate enough hamburgers to sink the Titanic. His favourite diner was the Silver Top in downtown Providence, Rhode Island. The hamburgers were simple, tasty things – a bit messy, but made with good quality meat and only classic adornments: some lettuce, tomato, red onion, and maybe a slice of cheese or bacon. Back in London, Tom realised there weren’t any restaurants offering hamburgers like those at the Silver Top. And so the idea for Byron was born. Now with 50 restaurants, from London to Bristol, Exeter to Liverpool, the vision remains the same: to keep serving proper hamburgers the way they should be.
Byron’s short and simple menu includes the Classic, Cheese, and signature Byron burgers, plus a regularly changing special. A selection of ‘Classic Specials’ sees some of the best-loved of these return to the menu for good. The drinkslist features craft beers from some of the world’s best breweries, canned for freshness and flavour and served in a frosted glass straight from the freezer.
As well as proper hamburgers, Byron’s menu also features classic sides such as French fries, onion rings, and macaroni cheese. Desserts include caramel and honeycomb sundae, banoffee mess and chocolate brownie, while hard shakes and milkshakes come in strawberry, chocolate, vanilla and Oreo cookie flavours. Classic sodas, floats and a selection of Kentucky bourbons are also available.
