About The Pothole review.
Find out what our blogger Adam thought of this new Allestree micropub
When the micropub revolution began there were only a handful operating in the country.
Fast forward to 2018 and there are now hundreds throughout the UK with three of this type of establishment in the Derby area.
In November 2017 the suburb of Allestree saw the arrival of The Pothole, a cosy micropub located at the Park Farm Shopping Centre.
The Pothole is a single-room establishment with a small snug area at the back. Upon entering you will notice an intriguing piece of history hanging up on the wall – a sign from the old Pothole pub, which was salvaged by Park Farm management when the old pub closed many years ago.
Ale fans will be happy as there are up to six real ales to choose from including at least one ale from the Littleover Brewery.
Also available are up to 4 ciders along with wines, proseccos, bottled beers and soft drinks. Crisps and nuts are also available.
Allestree was dubbed an ‘ale dessert’ in a regional beer publication, and a question was asked about whether someone would like to open a micropub in Allestree.
Thanks to The Pothole such an establishment now exists, and it is a fine establishment too with great ales and friendly staff.
