The aim of the course is to enable learners to attain the knowledge and competence needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations.

Learner should be able to demonstrate the practical administration of safe, prompt, effective first aid in emergency situations with an understanding of the role of the first aider.


The course will last a full day and comprises of 6 hours of teaching and practical hands on experience.

Up to ten trainees may attend a session with a single trainer.


The training will cover a range of subjects including:

  • The role of the First Aider including responsibilities and reporting
  • Assessment of an emergency situation
  • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
  • Basic hygiene in First Aid
  • Burns
  • Epilepsy
  • Resuscitation
  • Anatomy
  • Minor Injuries
  • Bleeding control
  • Choking
  • Shock

Upon completion of this course you will receive an Ofqual Level 2 qualification and certificate.
