On its release in 1999, The Blair Witch Project reinvigorated the found footage genre, terrifying audiences and launching a horror phenomenon.

25 years on from its initial release, it’s time to return to the forests of Burkittsville and face the legend once again…

On Saturday 4 May at 12:45pm Sarah Appleton, director of The Found Footage Phenomenon, will give a talk on the found footage film from its origins in cinema verité to its rebirth through the lens of new technologies.
