This one day course has been designed to increase the knowledge of managers about common behaviours associated with mental health conditions.
Busting some of the myths about how we think and feel about mental health and its impact on the individual.
Present an overview of the HAY model to provide managers with a simple tool to respond to, support and manage staff who may be experiencing mental health issues.
To increase awareness of the impact of mental health in the workplace, its costs, risks and employers’ legal obligations
The training will cover a range of subjects including:
Discussing mental health and its impact on the person and the workplace
Recognising the behavioural symptoms associated with the most common mental health conditions
Challenging some of the myths and stigma associated with mental health conditions
Understanding the importance of early intervention and developing a healthy workplace
Knowing how to respond effectively using a simple tool
Understanding self-care and knowing your own limitations and when to access further help and support
You will have a greater awareness of the impact mental health has on the workplace and the importance of developing a healthy working environment. You will feel comfortable recognising symptoms associated with common mental health conditions and how to respond to these. By having employees who are trained on Mental Health Awareness, you will be helping to create a healthy, supportive workplace.
Upon completion of this course your employee will receive a certificate of attendance.
There are no specific entry requirements for this course. The course is aimed at Managers, Team Leaders and Supervisors.
