As part of its ongoing charity initiative, Derbion Cares, Derbion has announced four upcoming dates for its new school uniform swap shop event, as well as the latest focus for its Donation Station.

Aiming to support families across Derbyshire with the rising costs of school uniforms ahead of the upcoming academic year, on Friday 11, Friday 18 and Friday 25 August, as well as Friday 1 September, families can head to Derbion’s Community Hub, located on Level 1, to donate, swap, or pick up school uniform items for both primary and secondary children, offering a more sustainable and affordable alternative for school uniforms.

Accepting a variety of branded and unbranded school uniform and PE Kit items, including blazers, jumpers, cardigans, shirts, polos, trousers, skirts, PE shorts, plain tracksuits and more, Derbion team members will be working alongside Derby Food 4 Thought Alliance to volunteer at the swap shop that aims to support local families facing increased financial pressures and costs.

From now until Friday 1 September, Derby residents are invited to donate their preloved school items at the Donation Station located on Level 1, outside Sainsbury’s. All donations must be clean and in good condition and all items received, new or used, will be used in the swap shop events. For the full list of items Derbion are looking to collect, please visit: https://www.derbion.com/school-uniform-drop-swap-pick.

Parents can also request bespoke pre-packaged uniform bundles for collection by filling out an online form ahead of the event, which will enable them to pick up a pack that includes a jumper, three polo shirts/shirts, and one pair of trousers/skirt, depending on your requirements. Additional items including PE kits will be available upon request. To fill out the form, please visit: https://www.derbion.com/school-uniform-drop-swap-pick.

Beth McDonald, Managing Director at Derbion, commented: “We’re pleased to be taking our in-centre donating opportunities one step further with the introduction of the school uniform swap shop events over the summer holidays.

“With the rising costs of getting children kitted out for school, this brand new Derbion Cares initiative will support families with a more affordable way of getting all the uniform needed for the new school year.  We’re confident that both the swap shop events and the Donation Station will be well received in the coming weeks.”
