Derby Museum

Derby’s Museum and Art Gallery is home to a fascinating and diverse range of nationally and internationally important collections.

With exciting exhibits, the Museum and Art Gallery boasts significant local and international paintings and artefacts.

Visit the exquisite collection of Joseph Wright paintings; walk through the Soldier’s Story exhibition to see the range of weaponry and objects, both military and personal; or pop on your adventure hat and explore historic artefacts from thousands of years ago within the Archaeology Gallery.

Pickford’s House Museum

Pickford’s House is situated on the popular Friargate. This unobvious Georgian house hides an imposing museum.

The museum celebrates the Georgian period and Joseph Pickford, the man who designed and lived in it. It is free to visit and is a beautiful example of life in the Georgian period. If you want to learn more, there is also an interesting tour.

Museum of Making

The Museum of Making is situated in the Silk Mill, one of the world’s oldest factories.

Built by George Sorocold in 1702, the foundations and parts of the tower from the 1717 mill are still visible.

Crich Tramway Museum

Nestling on the edge of the Peak District this award-winning museum takes you on a mile-long scenic journey through a period street to open countryside.

Enjoy unlimited vintage tram rides and explore 30,000 sq. ft. of indoor attractions. The Exhibition Hall houses the largest collection of vintage electric trams in Britain.
