About The Maypole Café, Bar and Theatre.

The Maypole Theatre is Derby's new intimate theatre space and funky café bar on the edge of Derby's City centre.

The Maypole Café, Bar and Theatre is an exciting and versatile creative space situated in the West End District of Derby, just down from Banks Mill and BBC Radio Derby.

Split into two rooms, the front room is a stylish and inviting professional space to work, meet and unwind, while the back room is an intimate performance space (70 seated / 80 standing) with full pa, lighting and stage (10 feet x 11 feet).

Opening in February 2015, The Maypole is operated by the team behind ‘The Venue’ and several other successful bars in Derby with events being managed by the Derbyshire arts organisation ‘Furthest From The Sea’, both organisations have a longstanding history of events in Derby and are committed to showcasing and celebrating the diverse Derbyshire arts scene as well as bringing unseen touring music and theatre acts into the city centre.

The Maypole Café, Bar and Theatre promises to be an affordable alternative to other performances venues in Derby with an emphasis on supporting and showcasing emerging local talent.
