Keen local photographers are being encouraged to submit their favourite images of Derby and Derbyshire to form part of ‘Capture Derby’ - a new display launching in Derbion this spring.

Celebrating photographers and their pictures of Derby, local communities and Derbyshire, Derbion is offering anyone with an interest in photography, from beginner to expert, the unique opportunity to have their images on display in-centre throughout the summer.

Set to launch opposite Derby Theatre in May, ‘Capture Derby’ aims to celebrate the talent of local photographers in the region, as well as showcase iconic locations across the county. Open to anyone with an interest in photography, from beginner to professional, the centre is seeking a wide array of pictures including nature, landscape, architecture, sports and street images, to name a few.

A panel of local stakeholders and Derbion employees will select the final images, with as many photos as possible set to go on display in-centre and shared across the Derbion’s website and social media platforms.

Beth McDonald, Managing Director of Derbion, commented: “We hope that ‘Capture Derby’ will showcase some of the incredible pictures that locals have captured of our wonderful community and county over the years, and put a smile on the faces of our visitors and passers-by.

“So, whether you’ve taken a fantastic image of Derby City Centre, the stunning Peak District and Derbyshire countryside, an iconic attraction, venue, heritage site or art gallery, we’d love for you to get in touch and share your photo!”

For more information, head to www.derbion.com/capture-derby. To submit your photograph for consideration in ‘Capture Derby’, please send your image, a brief description of your photo and your full name to [email protected]. The deadline for entries is 11:59pm on Sunday 30th April.
