A man wakes up in hospital with no recollection of who he is or where he is.
He had lost all his memories. However, he realises that he is Japan’s 127th Prime Minister, Keisuke Kuroda, who was hit by a stone during a speech and then rushed to the hospital. He also finds himself hated by his people as the most useless prime minister Japan has ever produced.
Keisuke no longer knows the faces and names of each minister or even his own son’s name. It sounds like starting over from scratch. He goes from being an unscrupulous politician blinded by money and power to being a good and conscientious man. While hiding his memory loss, with the support of his secretaries and advisors, Keisuke manages to carry out his daily official duties. But politics is politics; conspiracies are everywhere, and there’s no place for a good man. There are always enemies who look for the opportunity to kick him out. The President of the United States will visit to make a trade deal on American Cherries… Will Keisuke manage with them all?
Directed by Japan’s reigning king of comedy cinema, Koki Mitani, Hit Me, Anyone, One More Time! mixes political satire and slapstick to excellent effect.
